The day-to-day has been pretty odd since the start of the COVID lock-downs. A lot of things have changed, including my job duties and how I work everyday. Often, I finish my workday mentally drained and not wanting to live in a digital world any longer. This makes it hard to do the work of finding fresh faces to photograph.
Photography Fun
I have certainly found ways to have some fun with photography this year. Between airshows, networking events, and simply getting out of the house, I manage to “stumble” into things. I just need to do it more often. And I have managed to do some fun, creative portrait sessions as well, even ending up in Times Square for a moment! When I get behind the camera, I am rarely disappointed. I know this and have for many years. The issue recently is forgetting how much it energizes me.
Fresh Faces And Familiar Friends
While photography can be pursued without company, fresh faces and familiar friends are better. It is the collaborative effort to create that drives me. Currently, I am finding the familiar friends are either as mentally drained as I have been or are buried in their own pursuits. Some have moved on to other things entirely. It happens. They know I am here, ready to work with them. The fresh faces, on the other hand, probably don’t even know I exist. Or, if they do, they might think I’ve gone the way of the dodo. Who knows?
The Bottom Line
- I am always available for hire: Portraits, products, events, and more
- Interested in finding models, designers, makeup artists, etc who want to collaborate
- Seeking creative, like-minded individuals who want to improve as a team and as individuals
If you’ve worked with me before and have constructive feedback, I’d love to hear it. When you recommend someone talk to me about photography, make sure they let me know so I can thank you properly. If you just stumble across this and wonder who the heck I am, check out my work. If you like what you see, let’s talk!
