Skipping a week was not in the plan, but following a Labor Day weekend at ReaperCon, I was a bit wiped. Three days with like-minded hobbyists has a way of wearing one down. I’m no longer a spring chicken. And some odd things happened that threw me off my game. One luminous moment was when both my son and I were awarded bronze medals for our miniature painting entries!
What Better Way?
Coming off an unexpected victory, what better way to follow it up than a session with someone new? Jane and I had been talking for a bit about shooting together. Several locations were considered, but when it came down to it, we decided on the humble home studio. Despite an unexpected obstacle on my end, we managed to have fun collaborating.
Luminous Walls
Jane and I didn’t exactly break new ground. Sometimes, it pays off to play some favorite tunes with a new guest musician, as it were. For a while now, I’ve been playing with gels and grids. It is challenging, fun, and rarely disappoints. The light on the walls, those luminous colors, add a certain rhythm to the songs I enjoy playing. I have yet to figure out all the chords and key changes, but therein lies the fun that keeps me coming back for more.
Are you next to step in front of my lens? Are you ready to be part of a luminous portrait? Reach out, say hello, and let me know what you would like to create together. Photography isn’t my full-time job, but I know what I’m doing and love happy clients. Whether it is professional portraiture, product photography, or just an interest in landscapes I’ve photographed, I’d love to know how I can help.
