Forgive the post title. That would be me reaching for a dad joke to break the ice after a long silence. That said, it is most definitely July. It’s been a bit. Life happens and routines get lost to time. Thus, this overdue update sneaks in to catch up on a few things.
July Painting Progress
When I last posted, I was just starting on some 28mm British Airborne models. Two hundred models by the end of March would stall on me a bit. Various things took the wind from my “painting sails”, but I am still going! April and May were both slow months in this regard. As I compose this update, however, I am at a grand total of 296 painted miniatures in 2022.
With the British Airborne finished in the first week of July, I pushed on to other miniatures. I have found that bouncing from bulk painting of groups to individual models helps me keep up a decent pace. The issue with the Airborne troops was that I started painting them in small groups. I changed my tactic and started painting parts instead of miniatures. The assembly line focus of just berets or helmets or camouflage really pushed things along.

To be honest, things have been slow. I’ve got some material to share and will soon. If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, you may have seen some of it. One reason I have been “away” is a series of power surges damaging a RAID drive I use for one level of backup. It took a bit more time than I would like to recover my solid footing.
The worst part of that incident? I had just started work on a new editing concept. I was on a roll. That is when this stuff always happens! But, the new concept is intact and I am continuing to play with it. I’ll share more at a later date.
