The stars aligned and a drive to the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge is in order. Awake and on the road before sunup, this is a much-needed change of pace. This was arguably the best trip to the refuge in terms of overall experience. To be sure, the day spent with my son makes for a great start.
