The Furlough Chair

After a busy week of work, I sat down at my home computer and tried to catch up on all of the photography-related work I needed to get done. I’ll start with some social media to help me transition from the job to the business. Oh, look! There’s a fellow photographer with a great idea! You know what? I’m going to jump on this bandwagon and present my Federal Furlough Special!

Up above, you have a photo of an empty chair in front of a formal backdrop. I’ve been occupying a different chair for my employer on weekdays, working to fulfill various job duties. Across the country, thousands of furloughed federal workers have left their chairs at work empty. I don’t know how many are in Oklahoma, but there are certainly more than I would care to count. In this particular situation, one is too many. I don’t intend to get political here, but if I’m sending tax dollars to Washington, D.C. to help cover your paycheck, I expect the Federal Government to do it’s part and make sure you receive your fair share of it!

Oh, so many things I want to say about this, but my time and effort is better put towards doing something that can potentially help those who need help.

Therefore, for the remainder of the current government shutdown, I am offering my services to those in need. If you are furloughed or otherwise without employment and in need of a headshot to assist in finding work, you are welcome to set an appointment with me, my camera, a backdrop, and the empty chair at the top of this post. Come looking your best and we will get you set up with a digital image, ready to use, within minutes. No charge. You don’t even need to credit me.

Fortunately, when the elected members of our government fail to fulfill the promise of our Constitution, we the people still have power to render aid to our countrymen. Lord help us if that ever changes.
