My guess is it has been about 20 years since I last went to a large airshow. Back then, I still had decent recall in regard to aircraft names. A lot has changed since then from the planes to my ability to even think I can remember which is which. Still, I love the sight and sound of the various aircraft. Having good camera gear to capture my favorites with makes it even better. As I took a lot of images, I’m going to break this up into two parts, starting with the props.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Too Few Airshows of Late<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Tinker Air Force Base<\/a> hosted its first air show in four years. It was no surprise that, following a COVID-forced layoff from this American pastime, the crowd would be large. I was told they had to close the gates on both days due to capacity restrictions. My son and I showed up first thing Sunday morning. We were prepared to battle the heat and crowds to set our eyes on a lot of aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
