Given how often I post about the animals<\/a> in and<\/a> around my<\/a> backyard<\/a>, you might think I spend a lot of time outside. Truth be told, not as much as I would like. But, I sure do enjoy the sites and sounds. Spring is, predictably, one of the more entertaining times to be an observer. As has been the case many years at my humble abode, we are once again graced with newborn critters. Among them are five new Canada Goose goslings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Goslings and the Inevitable Reference<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Let’s just get it out of the way. Goslings deserve names, right? How about Ryan<\/a>, Rian, Rhyan, Rhian, and Rhianne Gosling? Makes it easy to call them all up for dinner. Also satisfies the dad joke quota. <\/p>\n\n\n

\"Gathering<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n

These are fresh-minted goslings with a lot of yellow coloring. They are quick learners and can move pretty fast, too. The geese are used to us being around, so they don’t tend to scatter too much when we step outside. So long as I stick to the back porch, I can take images of these little guys without any problem. <\/p>\n\n\n

Fluffy, Adventurous, and Not Yet Prone To Hiss<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

These little guys are moving around great. Unlike the adult Canada Geese who usually visit, they are not as prone to hissing. Yet. They’ll learn. Here’s hoping the parents can keep them safe from the predators long enough for them to take flight.<\/p>\n\n\n

There it is: Your daily dose of animal cuteness. I hope your spring is full of wonderful encounters like this. When nature is able to do its thing, we all benefit. While not my favorite bird, I feel like I get them. Yes, they hiss at us on occasion, but we are tall, fleshy things walking through their living room. Unannounced. They just want a bit of predictability and safety, right? <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
