DGS Games Miniatures

Miniatures have been a part of my hobby life for a very long time. It was not long after I was introduced to role-playing games that I discovered game stores with cool figurines to paint. They represented heroes, villains, and creatures that used to just be figments of the imagination. Here they were, right in front of me. Better yet, I could paint them!

To be fair, I’ve never been a great painter. I would like to think my work is passable, but as I get older, I think I’m loosing what touch I had. That isn’t the point of this post, however. In a roundabout way, role-playing games introduced me to miniatures which introduced me to wargaming which fueled my desire to explore photography. It is no irony that the camera would fine me shooting product photography, then.

Among other roles, I enjoyed doing product photography for DGS Games, a miniature gaming company, for a time. After parting ways, I have continued to follow their efforts. Occasionally, I get to offer a bit of technical advice. I’m still waiting for them to send someone to paint all of my miniatures for me in return. I’m not holding my breath and, unfortunately, the good photos of average-at-best paint jobs probably won’t help.

Why do I share these images? Well, if you can look past my rough job, you can see the quality of the DGS Games product. That quality carries through in every aspect of what they do. As I watch the company grow from a distance, it is clear that there is a “can do” culture that others lack. It appears to be contagious with their fan base as well.

If you are gamer or just enjoy painting miniatures, I would encourage you to check out their wares. They currently have a great opportunity to jump in and pick up some of their product in their current Snakes and Skulls Kickstarter project, ending January 22nd, 2019. This is their eighth Kickstarter. The previous seven have all succeeded and delivered in a timely manner.

If you produce your own products and need images, I would love to hear from you! To give you an idea what I can create with a product, here’s an image of a professionally painted DGS Games miniature that should help you forget the gallery above!
